1948 Los Angeles Rams Leather Football Helmet. Genuine Wilson 7 1/2” Airlite leather football helmet, painted to look like an original Fred Gehrke hand painted helmet. The Rams leather helmets were used in an 1949 RKO movie called Easy Living starring Victor Mature and Lucille Ball, Kenny Washington and the Rams Team. The 75 Rams leather helmets disappeared and what happened to them, is one of the NFL’s biggest mysteries. The one in the Hall Of Fame was painted by Fred Gehrke in 1971 when he was inducted into the HOF and awarded the Pioneer Award for changing the game. I personally met these players and got their autographs on the helmet over the last 30 years. Merlin Olsen, Nolan Cromwell, Jack Snow, Marshall Faulk, Eric Dickerson, Fred Dryer, Vince Ferragamo, Todd Lyght and Kurt Warner.
